He says he will never let us down!

Regardless of which party you side with, regardless of who you voted for or what you believe in I think it's a little... what's the word... too much(?) for Donald Trump to say he's never going to let us down. I don't expect a president to be perfect 24/7. I don't expect a president to do everything I want them to do. It's truly impossible to please everyone so I will admit I was a bit shocked to hear him say that. This isn't a discussion to invoke an argument, this is my observation and my belief that it's just impossible to please everyone! So getting to question time now. Did you watch the inauguration? How did it make you feel? For me I'm on the fence, as I think it's okay for most people to feel the same way. I'm kind of a wait and see kind of person but I do want to be hopeful. I do want to see the good that may come from this but as I said I shall wait and see before I give my final opinion on how I view everything. Mainly I just wish and hope that everyone will be safe and that everyone has a chance and opportunity for a happy life.

@Bellatricks I'm just not thrilled with the whole thing. I am doing my own silent protest right here at home.

I agree and a bit too overly optimistic if you ask me.

I did not watch, boycotted the whole thing. My opinion of this man is based oh his own words which I think have been dangerous and spiteful. I have a tee shirt that says "Make America Think Again." I hope we do in four years and His Orangeness is gone.

And what a great thing that it is that us as Americans can view anything in any way we want. I'm trying to remain hopeful but I must admit the thing I'm worrying about the most right now is the fact that I might not have healthcare anymore if the things that I'm hearing end up becoming true... I guess we'll see.

He already let so many down, so you are right-he should not say it.

I'd suggest watching it first than reading the transcript because I think how it was delivered made a difference than just the words, as most speeches tend to be like.

I didn't watch it because I had other stuff to do. Even though I didn't vote for either primary candidate I think there's at least a good chance that Trump might boost the economy, which is honestly the main thing I'm worried about. Since he can't just take away disability payments and medicare without a huge fight, and he's unlikely to start whuge wars because that would hurt his businesses too, and he's unlikely to go drone strike happy, I do have some guarded optimism. I too hope that everyone has a chance for a better life. For me, that's a life free of handouts.

The GOP - some of them do want to take away SS and Medicare....and they have the votes to do it.

Yeah in theory one has to think he'd be good for the economy which is why I'm not completely terrified but I am nervous to see what happens to my healthcare in the near future.

You're right. It's impossible to please everyone. Better not to make any promises. Let's wait and see.

I am right beside you. "Never" is an impossibility unless you have some super powers or you are super human or maybe PERFECT which no one is. I am still up for the "wait and see"

Yes! I kind of wished he worded it in a way that was like "I'll just might hardest to not let you down" or something of that nature but I guess he's just being overly optimistic. Truth is everyone will not be 100% satisfied with him because that's not possible.

@Bellatricks People are already fighting hammer and tongs. He has some tough roads ahead. I hope he is ready for it.
