Competition in Business -- Reliance Jio offering free internet, talk time till June 2017

Reliance Jio -- Ambani led company initially offered free services -- unlimited data and talk time till December 2016. Subsequently it was extended upto March 31, 2017. Now I understand it is extended upto June 30, 2017.
I am not aware whether any FREE offers were made in ANY OTHER COUNTRY so far in telecom and that too for nearly 9 months. This is done to see that other players like AIRTEL AIRCEL VODAFONE , BSNL, IDEA are doomed in their business.
However quality of calls is not good because many go on talk for hours without limiting conversation.
Only hitch point is -- one needs a 4G phone for availing JIO.
I have taken one and that has helped me save $5 per month for Internet on mobile.

But it affects other businesses. Reliance wants to have all that is available in the market swallowing other businesses. It is good for customers to some extent.

yes for the next four months internet is free and talk time free. people can save roughly $10 per month
