pink words and odd little pictures

There is great beauty in the silence of the classroom. The clickety-click of fingers on keyboards permeates the air, gracefully. Gracefully. Huh. Not a word that I would necessarily link to a bunch of seventeen year olds. In fact, I have no idea where the word came from; it simply popped into my head and dared me to write it here. Or type. Whatever. It is chilly in here. My students are fine, getting on well with their work. Gracefully. I am cold and sniffly. To amuse myself I opened a Word document and made a list of all my physical ailments. Legs, feet, hips, hands ... phew! It's all going on. Oh, I forgot to add my tummy. Right now I would like nothing more than the time to put my head on the desk and fall into a long and blissful sleep. Alas, that is something which will not happen. In twenty minutes I'm off to another class, a thousand miles away {well, in a different building, and it feels like a thousand miles when you are getting old and becoming crippled}, a lesson which will be full of seventeen year old girls moaning about this, that and the other when they should be learning about how to keep hair clean, or some other similar nonsense. It will be a complete contrast to this quiet clickety-clackety lesson. I must prepare! Happy days!

@Poppylicious I imagine some kids today would start taking and sending selfies the second they got to Heaven

Yes, I think sometimes half the class manage it. The others just spend their time Facebook Messaging. :)

Noooo! I can't not work! I'll sit at home worrying that I'm letting everyone down. Better to plod on and run myself ragged.

I don't envy you one bit. Stroppy teenagers are not my cup of tea.

I don't teach. I sit idly by and twiddle my thumbs whilst someone else teaches. I suppose the easiest way to describe my job is as a classroom assistant, but really it's more than that. I was sniffly because the room was cold!
