What's the most expensive gift you've ever bought someone?

I'm seriously thinking about buying my boyfriend the new Nintendo gaming console but if I do it'll end up being the most expensive gift that I've ever bought for someone.
What's the most expensive gift that you've ever bought for someone? Did they like it? Was it worth it for you to spend that much money on a gift?
As of right now I think the most expensive gift that I ever bought for someone was when I got my mother an iPad and case.

Let's see, our last SUV - we bought it the day before my husband's birthday and since I used my money to buy it -that would be it!

I would love to own one of these new nintendos myself! I don't think I have ever spent more then $50 on a gift for anyone except for my kids. The first year my late husband and I were together for Christmas I bought him.a nice hoodie for $50. He bought me an rengagement ring he spent $400 on. He was annoyed he spent so much on me and I only bought him a hoodie.

Yes, I have noticed some couples that have gotten into arguments over spending too much or too little on a gift when the other person either spent too much or too little etc. I think that it's good to talk about how much each is planning on spending before hand when it comes to holidays like Christmas so you're on the same page. If I do end up getting this for my boyfriend it won't be for an occasion. Since it's not Christmas and both of our birthdays are at the end of the year. It would be because I'm getting one myself and it would be a way for us to play together when we aren't with each other in person.

I bought him a watch. It was worth it because he spent almost twice of the amount of the watch for the gift he gave me in return.
