Whats the age for kids to have a mobile phone

Mobile Phones.
Everyone has a mobile phone now a days young or old almost Everyone. But Whats is the age to have a mobile phone. I am thinking about that for a long time, and I need Some help from my Nice mylotters.
I think they can have a phone when there going to the highschool. If they get a phone earlier they might be a bit less social. And out there on the internet is Some strange stuff that I dont want any kids to see. I know that Here are alot off parents that can help me answer this question

I think I bought a simple mobile phone for my son when he was about 9 years old. Since I felt relaxed to contact him when we went out. And now he is 12 years old, I bought him a smartphone because it has more features. I think he shall know how to take good advantage of it at this age.

I don't think cellphones are issue nowadays. Kids know everything about internet and the functions of the phone better than us.

I think when they learn how to use a cell phone. It should be a way for parents to monitor what their children do and see on the phone.

I think they should have it when they are in high school, especially if they have to catch public transport.
