Free agent outfielder Eric Young Jr., on Tuesday has signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Young will attempt to make a comeback in the Major Leagues in 2017 after spending the majority of the 2016 Major League Baseball season with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox which is the AAA minor league team of the Milwaukee Brewers before he was traded to the New York Yankees in September to be basically a pinch runner for the Yankees during the final month of the 2016 baseball season. The Yankees released Young, 31, at the end of the 2016 baseball season. Two months later Young will have a chance to make the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim team as a reserve outfielder during the 2017 Major League Baseball season during Spring Training.

News to me. The Angels are adding outfield depth in case of injuries during the season.
