A question on sleeping

There are times when by just closing my eyes, I would go to sleep immediately but lately I was tossing and turning and having trouble sleeping even though I really am sleepy. Hopefully later I would get to sleep as fast as possible. How about you? Are you one of those people who can go to sleep immediately?

Having a hard time in falling asleep really happens. That is if our brain is occupied with too many thoughts that keep on bothering us. The best thing that we can do is to relax and make our mind empty of those disturbing thoughts.

Hopefully later tonight those things that occupy my mind would go away so I could sleep soundly.

Often I can't sleep too well either. It helps if I read something, especially something a little difficult. That helps my brain get tired, I think.

I will try reading as well later in case I would have trouble sleeping again. Thanks for the advice.

I valued sleeping now that I have a tooth ache. depends on what the event is before going to sleep.

I hope your tooth will get well soon. It would indeed be difficult to sleep if you have a painful tooth.

i can immediately catch sleep once my head touches my pillow. why, even while seated in front of the TV set, i can doze off and take a nap

You are lucky. I've known many people who can't do what you can do although sometimes that happens to me.

Yes, when I'm so tired, didn't have enough sleep for the past night, and when I took sleeping pills.

I don't like to take sleeping pills though because one could get easily addicted to it.

It's pretty much the same for me.. Sometimes I can fall asleep fairly quick, other times I will toss and turn not resting well at all. I like to meditate when I lay down to go to bed. When I do, I usually fall asleep fast and sleep soundly.. xx :)

I have recently tried meditation as well. I downloaded an app called "Stop, Breathe and Think" and it was really of good help.

@lealuvy2j I take more of a self hypnotic approach personally. I relax my body from head to toe and then take myself to a tropical forest and wonder about. I'm very descriptive and tell myself what im experiencing. This helps to quiet my mind and align my focus away from random thoughts of the days events etc. This is also a useful approach to use to give yourself self suggestions as your more relaxed and receptive and it's much easier to communicate with your sub conscious and super conscious.. :) xx
