I want to forget it, but... I can't!

A very bad song that you ended up listening to and unintentionally got hooked; An ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend who has left you with good memories and still walks around in your mind more often than her/him should; A trip you planned in the smallest detail but that did not go the way you expected it... And so many other situations that can happen.
Why do you think those memories (which are kinda bad) become - so - important?

When one has just broken up with a boyfriend or girlfriend , it cannot be helped that memories will keep coming back to him / her. The best way is to think of the bad things about your partner. That way, you anger will outdo your love for him /her.

Who knows why they haunt us? Even in our dreams they appear in all their glory every now and then leaving us with a strange nostalgia, meloncholy, sadness, anger etc...

It's human nature i guess. We remain stuck to things that didn't go well rather that things that were a success. I feel most of us are like that...living in if's and but's :)

Personally I believe it's in our nature. What I mean is,we all to often focus on the nagatives. Experiences that affect us in a negative way often make more of an impression. Then you must factor in the "what ifs" as well. Here we find ourselves reliving the experiences and wondering/imagining how things could have been different (our expectations)..
Music is a medium to these emotions memories etc as we associate certain songs with people, places, experiences etc. So even though these situations are not on the forefront of your thoughts, hearing that particular song(s) will bring them rushing forward. xx
