Like any culture, food is an integral part. But India has an advantage of having so many cultures and religions. That translates into having a variety of cuisines. Each region has its distinct recipes. Ladies are supposed to be in charge of the kitchens but with changing times, men have also entered this domain.I happen to be among those few men who love cooking! :)
Many of you might have never heard the name of "rasam". Well, it is a South Indian recipe that is made of pigeon pea. Its eaten with boiled rice. Its also taken before meals as a starter. Its very savoury and one needs to develop a taste for it. But once you have developed the taste, you are gonna love it! By the way, I am a north Indian guy and today I made this south Indian recipe.

There is no roti in the picture. You only have rice, rasam (sambhar actually) and papad.

@aseemchandna Okay that is what I meant I wrote wrongly roti instead of pappad. That is not Rasam. So it is Sambar.Rasam is thin and watery. It does not have thick gravy.
