Writer's Block

A writer's blank paper due to writer's block
January 25, 2017 9:57am CST
Have you ever tried on writing a story but couldn't finish it because you run out of ideas? I mean, not that you run out of ideas but you just couldn't express it properly and whenever you try to express it, the thoughts that you have in mind becomes dull and so dry. You can't think on how to proceed and on how to move forward on your on-going story. I am currently suffering from this syndrome. I want to write but I don't know exactly what to write. How will I overcome writer's block? Can anyone help me?

I think I would rather write dull and dry than nothing at all. As long as I'm writing can always add to or change something in the future. I'm not an expert at writing but hope that helped a little.

You got the point. I'll try on doing that. Thank you so much.

@kaymee01 Sometimes just writing a little in the little text box in comment helps. How has it been going?

I've had many stories come to a halt due to writer's block. One thing I've learned to help overcome it is to make an outline of my story before I start. I'm still new at it, but it seems to be working. Other things I do to break writer's block: Listen to music, take a break and watch a movie, or set the story aside and work on a different writing project. Also, don't stop writing because you think what you're writing is no good. Write it anyway. First drafts are supposed to be awful. That's why writers do numerous rewrites and revisions. My first novel got a major rewrite and numerous revisions, edits, and more revisions before it was ready for publication. The same with all my books since.

@kaymee01 I'll share some advice I received from James Patterson via his Master Class on writing. Write To Be Determined at the point where you're stuck and go on to the next part of the story.

I am currently doing those but unfortunately I still can't overcome it. :(
