This Medical Tape is Fused to My Skin!

I had a doctor appointment today and what I thought was going to be a quick consultation, turned into a 2 hour long nightmare with EKG's, chest x-rays, and blood work. It was awful. I've been having these pains in my abdomen for quite a while and I'm prepping for more tests to get them figured out. I've never had any issues with testing but blood work I can't handle. I have a HUGE fear of needles and it's hard for me to get through it. I can't decide what's worse though, the needle or the medical tape that has a death grip on my body! I've been slowly peeling this tape up for the past 5 minutes and I swear I've lost the top layer of my skin. It's awful! lol

If the tape is still there, soak it with warm soapy water. That will help break down the adhesive and make it easier to remove. I pray all these test come up with something conclusive so you can get to feeling better.

@missjessicadawn I'm glad you were able to remove it with minimal harm. A nurse friend of mine taught me that trick.

lol I bet the nurses joke about it all the time..."She whined so much about that needle, just wait 'til she gets home and tries to get that tape off!" lol

My daughter had a fear of needles too. She always passes out when she goes to get blood tests done. I agree that tape is terrible. Sorry you had such an ordeal today. I hope after all that they will figure out what is wrong so that we can finally have some relief from the pain

If someone could create a better tape AND something to use other than staples to use after surgery, life would be better for many.

I've never had staples but I'm sure I would hate them. I know they sometimes use some sort of medical glue but I think that's only for small wounds or something...
