My daughter is in kidney failure

If you take lithium be sure to keep a check on your kidneys. This is the second time she has been in kidney failure. Both times her psychiatrist put her on lithium both times. They were two different doctors, but kim told this psychiatrist PA (physical. Assist) and told her she needed it.
Her family doc said to stop taking them and her kidney failure levels was at the max, whatever that means. Her husband insisted she see the doc, cuz her pain is like ice picks stabbing her.
I'm glad she went. Last time her kidney function was at 45%. I don't know what it is now.

I know how you feel. My friend is on a waiting list for his kidney and this is the 3rd time for him.

It is really frightening what medications can do to humans! So many have side-effects that are worse than the illness. Hope your daughter will be okay.

I believe she will be OK. It took 7 months before to correct her kidneys. So I expect she will recover. We disposed of the medicine.

they did that to my mom.appearently, you're not supposed to be on lithium in total more than 20 years-she was on it 30.so of course by the time they thought of it,she had damage.they gave her something different and supposedly the kidney's calmed down.i felt like suing when they more or less said "oops,my bad" and that was it.

That's so terrible. Medications may help with one thing and ruin another thing.

I think she will be OK. Her last dose of lithium was this morning. It's gone now. So it may take awhile to heal, but I believe she will.

Oh no. I've seen a lot of people with kidney failures and they don't look good at all. Some of them even passed away.
How old is she?
