Why do people show off so much on FACEBOOK?

One major reason why I am trying out mylot is to see whether people out here show off the way people show off in FB.. I find it really bizarre and unnecessary when they post which 5 star resort they are checking into.. Where they are flying to.. Post intimate pictures of hugging and kissing..

Mylot is different from FB. Here we appeal more to the cerebral compare to the visual effects on FB. Although it's not to say we won't occasionally "show off" our intellectual prowess in our discussions and comments..

Yeah, it's pleasantly better...and more importantly I have been able to get connected to so many people around the world in one day.. Where as in FB you are mostly connected to people you already knew..

@aseemchandna _When you use the comment box you should see the blue colored "mylot code" below. They contain the emojis. You can also use the "Add image" beside it to download a file or photo.

Don't mind those people. The most probable reason is they are insecure with something hence the need to show off.

Indeed, some people can really be showy of what they are doing, eating and thinking and where they are eating and going. I hate those kind of posts too.

I think Facebook gives most people the perfect avenue to update other people with their recent developments and still to exaggerate their own self by even lying.

Yes, people just over do it.. That's the point I'm trying to make.. I don't think there is any problem if you post a decent pictures.. But people go berserk with check-ins, what they are eating, where they are eating etc etc

The internet brings out the weirdness in people which has always been there but was - gratefully - hidden before the advancement (?) of technology.

Understandable.. But overdoing something is not desirable at all.. And secondly, there is a difference between having a luxurious life and being happy!

What bugs me about Facebook, Yes is some of that, especially if they are trying to act like they are better than you, but what about the people who never have Good news to share, or are always sick, and at a Doctor, etc. Or the ones who constantly are sharing link after link after link on what ways to make money but never sharing anything good for someone to think about.

People just want to feel important and that is how they do it.

Yes, sadly that's partially true.. Because no matter what you say but the ground reality around nations would be that rich people are powerful and important..

Some people are like that with wanting to share intimate details of their life.
