What is the best way to add a title to your blog posts?

What is the proper way of adding a title to your blog post? Is it ' How to' or is it a 'top - list?'
I see many people agreeing that blog posts with 'How to' as their title drawing more traffic. I also see people saying that they like listicles. Which one to prefer?
Experts, please help.

I have read that adding a subtitle after the main title can help.
