Authority is granted to people who are perceived as authoring their own words, their own actions, their own lives rather than playing a scripted role at great remove from their own hearts...when teachers depend on coercive powers of law and technique...they have no authority at all!" -Parker J. Palmer Reality bites! Reality is reality... Politics at work is something like a kind of disease without cure. When a person is not yet in the highest position, he makes promises that he won't follow the footsteps before him. Yet, when his moment arrives, good intentions are easily forgotten. Why? Because he is more protective of his staying power and authority to overrule. I love my work...just hate the politics!!!

It's just easy to make the promise specially if the person is not in the same situation as the one who is on the position.
