I think I am officially sick

I started my day not feeling great. Just a little bit of a sore throat and such, but now I feel just completely drained and feverish. I just don't like feeling so sluggish and ucky and I imagine that it will get worse. My co-worker came to work knowing he was sick and contagious but hard to replace as a result I believe he has passed his illness off to me therefore it will cause me to loose time at work. Really wonder if it would have been more responsible of him to stay home instead of infect others I understand where he feels the need to come to work as he is a pharmacist and is difficult to replace on short notice but in his position it is probably more important to stay home when he is sick as he is dealing with immune compromised and elderly people as part of his job Have you every gone to work ill based on either duty or financial necessity? Do you try to avoid contact with other?

Yeah- that happens and it is not pleasant- that's the problem- stay home and you lose work or can't get a replacement- go to work and infect everyone- best to stay home I guess and keep everyone healthy!

yes It would be best but without or Pharmacist we would have to shut down the pharmacy completely!

When I have been sick I would never go to work and get others sick. I hope you feel better really soon.

It is the circumstances that prompt one to go to work even when they are sick. I never had to do it. Whenever I was unwell I stayed home.

I do believe it all comes down to the circumstance and loyalty to the company as well

When I worked and was ill, I used sick days and stayed home to recuperate. Sick people should stay home. It's not fair to make others ill.

I agree to an extent, some people sometimes people take staying home sick a little too far. My pharmacist should have stayed home though he was very sick!

I work at a grocery store and handle food a lot. If I'm sick, I will not go in. I do not want to spread my illness to my coworkers or to any customers.

My thoughts are the same but I also feel guilty if I don't go in so it always depends on how bad i'm feeling. Thankfully I woke up feeling better so I went in no thanks to my co-worker!

It depends on what sickness we are talking about here. When I was still working I still went to work even when I was very sick. I didn't take time off at all as I felt guilty for staying away from work. This is to do with physically sick. Now I am home because of my sickness, but this is mentally sick. Hope you feel better now...

Wow... I often wonder how often someone in this profession does so, or a Dr or Nurse and because of this passes it on to someone else that may not work with them even. Is this safe working with filling prescriptions and being like this? Especially to someone with serious Health issues. Sounds like there needs to be a better Health precaution protection set in place.

Funny you would post this, I was talking to my sister earlier today, and she is sick as a dog. She sounded terrible. I asked if her if she was going to go to work tomorrow, and she said she didn't know. I said maybe she could take some cold medicine, and sleep in the morning and maybe go in the afternoon. She seems to get colds often. I haven't been sick for a long time...other than a brief round of sniffles and some minor sneezing before Christmas.

Hey there. Hope you are starting to feel a little better. I call in occasionally but not all the time when Im sick. I work in an office but it does seem like when one person gets sick everyone does. I hope you feel better soon!

If I'm I'll I try to stay away from other people. When I owned my own store I never took a day off because I was ill. A few times I was does with a cold medicine before heading out the door. I'm fortunate, I simply don't get sick very often.

Yes, but I still reported for work. I have my own office. During those days, I tried to just stay in my office. If there are documents that need to be reviewed/signed, people just placed it then on my desk.

It is so easy to catch it when others around you have it.
