Former Minnesota Twins designated hitter Justin Morneau, 35, has drawn interest from the Twins to join them for the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Morneau played for the Minnesota Twins as their first baseman from 2003-2013. Morneau also played first base for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2013, Colorado Rockies from 2014-15 and the Chicago White Sox in 2016. Morneau became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season when his one year contract expired. Morneau only played in 58 games for the White Sox since he missed the first four months of the baseball season after he had surgery on his left elbow to repair a torn tendon. If the Twins sign Morneau to a contract it will be to attract season ticket holders to attend their baseball game since Justin is one of the most popular players in Twins history.

Morneau's career faded early mainly due to injuries. He was once an MVP.
