The Second Hand Skips

I had been away from home for how many months and I had the battery of my wristwatch changed before I left. The watch was left in my room and just a few weeks ago, I noticed that the second hand skips one second and then advances twice faster the next. I had searched online what's wrong with my wristwatch and I had read that this might be its feature wherein the battery is about to be drained. I will have the battery replaced again and see if that's the problem. Have you encountered this with your wristwatch that is battery-operated?

Yes, many times. You do need to replace the battery.

@brokenbee That's a shame. My battery lasts a minimum of two years.

Yes, I will try to find another shop because the last one's battery didn't last long.

Maybe the battery is not of good quality. Maybe I should have it changed at another shop.

@brokenbee Yes,we think like these when some thing like this happens. But the next time too we may just buy from a nearby shop without thinking about the quality. At least,I seem to keep on doing that.

I don't remember having experienced the same but I hope it needs battery replacement only and no other problem.

Yes, I hope there is no other problem. It still shows the correct time, so I think maybe it's really a signal that the battery is about to be drained.

That makes me wonder were can you detect and buy quality wrist watch batteries. Not to mention I haven't replaced a battery watch for a while now.

Yup, it's like taking risks because I myself don't know how to spot an original battery and a fake one.

Yes, like almost of my watches. Sometimes if it's not working anymore or I need a new battery for that. I just left them in the box and never to use them again. I'd rather buy new ones.
