Former St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Brandon Moss, 33, has signed a two year, $12 million dollar contract with an option of $10 million for the 2019 Major League Baseball season.
Moss became a free agent at the end of the 2016 Major League Baseball season with the Cardinals declined to pick up his 2017 baseball option to return to the team.
Moss will be playing as a designated hitter and outfielder for the Royals during the next two years of his new contract,
One reason the Royals signed Moss is that they are concerned that first baseman Eric Hosmer will leave the team at the end of the 2017 baseball season when he becomes a free agent.
