Kansas City Chiefs second string quarterback Nick Foles could be entering the free agent market in March since he is owed a non-guaranteed salary of $10.75 million dollars to remain with the team and the Chiefs reportedly only have $4.1 million dollars in the salary cap space.
The only way that Foles will remain with the Chiefs is to take a pay cut to remain with the team in 2017.
Foles played in three regular season football game for the Chiefs after Alex Smith missed some playing time due to a head injury during a football game versus the Indianapolis Colts which sidelined him for a short period of time.
Foles will likely be seeking to play football for another team in the National Football League that is willing to pay him salary to work as their backup quarterback in 2017.

Prudent financial move by the Chiefs. Too much money for a backup.

Especially one that is not worth that much as a player on their team.
