I’m hoping to write a few things that I’ve found researching the history of “dinosaurs.” The very word “dinosaur” was coined by an English paleontologist named Richard Owen in 1842.
So, no one had ever heard of the word “dinosaur” before that date in time.
After that there was a frenzy among scientists to find more bones and this eventually resulted in the BONE WAR or the “Great Dinosaur Rush.”
It was said that these two men supposedly found 142 new species of dinosaurs, though today only 32 are recognized by the scientific world. And in addition to that, most of these "species" are based on just a few bone fragments.

I will have to see if I can locate Robert Bakker's book, '"Dinosaur Heresies." I'm sure I would enjoy reading it.

The origin of words is a fascinating course of study.

And the cliche "You're an old dinosaur" also came to being.

I think that there has to be a lot of misinformation and controversy over the existence of dinosaurs. How would a person really know what happened "millions of years ago" Although bone fragments have been found and radiation tests have been done, there is still a lot of guesswork and imagination involved, in my humble opinion.
