Favorite "Light" Songs #2 - "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out"

We are nearing the end. (Luckily, @FourWalls is doing this theme as well!) #2 in my Favorite "Light" Songs series, and it's a tune by a band that regularly makes it into my music countdowns: "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" by The Smiths.
Led by vocalist Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr, The Smiths formed in Manchester, England, in 1982. The band released just four studio albums during their five years together, but all four records reached Top 5 in the UK. Highly influential, The Smiths had a major impact on alternative guitar rock in the 1980's and early 1990's (give a listen to The Ocean Blue's first album for starters.) Popular in Britain, the group also established a fanbase in the US with the alternative crowd thanks to exposure on College Radio and MTV.
(Not so Fun Fact That You Might Already Know: In 1989, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce sued Morrissey and Marr, claiming they were equal members of the band and deserving equal royalties and profits. Rourke settled, Joyce won.)
From their 1986 Gold album, The Queen is Dead (voted the #1 album of all time by the readers of New Musical Express Magazine!,) "There is a Light that Never Goes Out" is, frankly, one of the band's finest moments, perfectly combining Marr's composing skills with Morrissey's hilarious (yet serious) lyrics. (Of course, if you don't like The Smiths, this is probably the song you use to make your point!)
It's Morrissey at his drone on morbidly finest!

I was wondering earlier, since they have been nominated, if on the off chance that they get voted into the Hall of Fame, if they'd reunite for that evening, despite the animosity. I bet they wouldn't.

@teamfreak16 -- I wonder if that's why they got nominated in 2015. Sometimes I think the committee doesn't vote for deserving people but rather, "who can we try to reunite by inducting them?" I voted for them (along with Steve Miller, Chicago, the Replacements, and Los Lobos).
And I'm positively shocked that you used a Smiths song.

@FourWalls - Of course, Morrissey and Johnny could pull a Gene and Paul and not invite Ace and Peter (err, Andy and Mike.)

Oh, man, this is one of their best songs. Unless, of course, you don't like them!

@teamfreak16 Some folk are very keen on them and a lot of my friends are, but they do nothing for me
