After years of being miserable, I finally bit the bullet and quit my high paying corporate job. Yay me! Now, I'm here looking for ways to build a career from home...any advice appreciated!!

Earning online isn't as easy as you would hope it to be. You have to find your "niche". Those who can write tend to go to sites wherein they can write (either informatively or creatively) and earn. These tend to be a bit higher paying then other opportunities out there. Then there are those who earn better with surveys. Surveys are a hit and miss though. There are some that do database entry work and earn very well from it. It's not something you'll be able to do over night though... I hope you have a generous amount of savings.

Thank you for your advice! I do have savings (thank god!) but not enough to make this a full time career I suppose. I tried the surveys but started going cross eyed after awhile! My inbox was also a complete mess. I am however appreciating this time to figure out something I might be good at! It's been a nice "detox" from the corporate world...

@LP1022 I don't join "Survey sites" per se. The sites I use have surveys, but also have other opportunities. I hope you've read the guidelines here, as your questions might lead to people wanting to share ref links, and those are not allowed. I can say, if you've not come across them already, that swagbucks and instagc are ok sites.

Look, look, look some more. Many of us have worked online for years. It is a bit more work than some are willing to do, and it has never been quick and easy money.

Working from home is great but not always as profitable due to many factors out of our control. Maybe looking to do something that you really like or are good at is a good way to begin. figure that out and then see what your options are.

Appreciate the advice! Being at home and not glued to a cubicle definetely allows for more time to reflect, in positive ways that is! Thanks!

Following, since I've been looking for ways to work from home for years, I've been more successful just doing online work on the side. I've tried a few survey sites in the past, but no luck, considering most are just way too time consuming. However with more things going mobile, I think more remote work will become available. I've had a bit of luck with a couple remote job databases just waiting to hear back.
