I think telling a ‘lie’ is common for all. Sometimes the situation demands it sometimes it may help to escape from a dangerous situation upto to a certain period of time. However, ultimately truth can’t hide for ever.
Here I am not discussing about the honesty but something different.
My younger son is in class IV and going to his school by a private van. Yesterday, the van driver made a call to my hubby telling, he is from school for picking up the children after school hours as usual but the boy is not in the school. He asked have you taken him from the school. My hubby became panicked as the same person took our son in morning and in the afternoon how can he says like that. Since both of us are in office, believing the van driver is responsible for picking him back. He asked the driver to search him in school itself without cutting the phone. But the phone got disconnected and trying to connect the number back it become switched off. Soon my son called him from school reception telling the van uncle has not come yet, we are (other children who accompany in his van) waiting for him in the reception.
Later we found out that the van driver has not reached school, his van breakdown in the middle and he just played foul. But his ‘lies’ were so costly and made us devastated for some time.
Today we sent him in another van, can’t trust this type of irresponsible people any more.

Yes, if he told the truth then there was no problem. We could easily take steps to pick him from school. This month he already gone missing two days in the morning, his mobile switched off so we were already upset on his nature. Now he did this great mistake.
Just imagine we are sitting in office and getting a call telling our son is not seen in school
