Do you know that your name can influence your way of life?
That one's destiny lies in his or her name.
Do you think this above statement is a myth?
If so or if not so,
Tell us the meaning of your name in English.
How has your name influence your way of life?.

I think there is some truth to what you say about a name. In English my name is "happy" and I try to be as happy as possible and smile a lot since I'm happy.

@pureme Ye, we could choose a name that suits us and try to live up to that name and maybe they will nickname us the new name.

I have 2 names, my name in English is based on the Greek name of the Apostle Peter (Petros), it means Rock. My Hebrew name is similar in meaning (actually technically it's Aramaic, but that is another story). Regarding names and destiny, in Christ the Bible says we are given a new name, and that reflects God change in our lives, His taking our old life and giving it a new one, in effect, as you might say, changing the destiny of a person. You can remember, I am sure, the story of the Garden in Genesis, where Adam named all the creatures (meaning ownership)...and when we are born, we are given names by our parents. Yet in the Bible, God on occasion changed peoples names to reflect His will for them, and not even our parents will-God naming us anew with the Person of His son, implies His ownership in our lives, and is also a reason why Jesus changed some of the disciples names (again, the example of Peter, who was originally called Simon). Man may have his will, even our parents may have their will, but God is greater and He alone decides our destiny.
