People seem to forget that our previous president was pretty cozy with the Russian Government, too.
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/hot-mic-catches-president-obama-telling-russian-president-he-needs-flexibility-on-missile-defense-after-election/
Seems to me that in the mad rush to attack the new president on everything from where his wife lives to his cabinet appointments, people are forgetting that the guy just got into office and can't get everything done in one month. I have never in my 62 years seen anyone attacked like this man. The left and right have gone totally mad, attacking him and each other like mad, rabid dogs.
Just remember that our previous president was not perfect, nor was any president before him. This one won't be, either.

Maybe Trump should consider to emigrate to Russia : to have read a bit Russian media today, he has there his best supporters among officials, something that never happened to Obama. They tell that the "russophobic" US intelligence tries to discredit your president, and are obviously pro-Trump. Maybe is it just a manipulation, but it is troubling.

It is troubling when a president is so friendly with a nation that has few friends and doesn't seem to want any, either. Russia is friends with China, another dictatorship if I'm not mistaken. I don't think they will ever be our friends but Mr. Obama seemed to have ties to Russia and so does Mr. Trump. I'm not sure what Obama expected to accomplish but I hope Trump's plans will benefit us. He has run businesses for 50 years so naturally he'll have some ties to Russia.

@dragon54u Obama worked to reduce the number of nuclear weapons in both USA and Russia, each having enough nuclear weapons to blow 10 times this planet, but he also expelled a lot of Russian diplomats and took sanctions against Russia.

@topffer You're right about President Obama and nuclear weapons while Trump has already called for an arms race. He's totally erratic and inconsistent because he also refuses to say anything bad about Putin, even to the point of claiming we kill people just like Putin does, and his campaign pushed to have the GOP platform changed to be less friendly to Ukraine. I'm pretty sure there was collusion between Trump and his campaign and Russia in the attempt to sway our election and if it's proven I'm pretty sure that will be grounds for impeachment.

His style of management is what is worrisome. He likes to show that he's a hands on president yet base on the outcome of policies like the selective travel ban, there are signs that these were hastily conceive without proper advice from legal experts task for this kind of job. Trump should understand there is a difference between decree signing royalty and democratic gov't where check and balance is at work. He's no longer a show host where he points a finger at a contestant and say "Your fired". He is now dealing with the American people and their lives.

@josie_ Thanks for doing the research! It seems that all the Obama haters love to claim he "abused his power" by using the Executive Order too often but he actually knows the law and knew what he was doing. Trump signed more EOs his first few weeks than anyone in history. He hasn't really done anything legislatively so far but he's still taking credit for things he couldn't possibly have had anything to do with.

You have a good point. But our previous president also did a lot of signing orders and avoiding the checks and balances. As a result, a lot of his work has become undone. I hope that Mr. Trump can learn to leave his ego out of the office--it is a big advantage in business dealings but it doesn't work in politics and government as a general rule.

None of them are perfect Spanish President Rajoy has come under fire for a lot of things but there he is getting things done even if we don“t like them.
Would rather have Mr. Rajoy than the other one and the other one that tried to get it in at the same time.
He spoke to Mr. Trump on the Telephone the other day and things seem to be in order as far as Mr. Rajoy is concerned.

That's good that things are in order between our two countries. I would like to see us do more business together so that we all benefit.

Mr. Rajoy is a very reasonable Person he has to contend with a lot I can tell you. Now we are seeing he is a real Politician when he is in the Parliament speaking.
Saw the Japanese President I think he is talking to Mr. Trump and they seemed to hit it off too.
Perhaps that is a good thing as well.
Fingers crossed that everything starts to go in the right direction on all levels.

no previous president has generated anything like this level of anger and criticism and fear even in a full term of office, not even Nixon came close

@dragon54u That was NOT "typical male locker room talk" and to imply that is a huge insult to the millions of decent men who make up the majority, including all the men in my life, some of whom have actually BEEN athletes and have engaged in real locker room talk! This is one example of how horrible Trump is for America, he's normalized that kind of attitude along with making it acceptable to make racist remarks and make fun of the disabled.
You may recall that the so-called First Lady (who's too good to live in the People's House) said women who are sexually assaulted should keep their mouths shut if they don't have evidence that would stand up in a court of law.

People are hysterical, I've never seen it like this. I think part of the anger and hatred is because we've been pushed into class warfare the past ten years, encouraged to hate the rich and resent success. Bush started it and Obama capitalized on it, each for their own purposes.
We have women here that are fearful of being groped in the streets by strangers because they think the president is encouraging that kind of thing. That's what the media tells them. That's what they heard in a very old tape of a private conversation of the prez and a friend engaged in typical male locker room talk. But they believe he actually did those things and that it will happen to them.
This nation is in the throes of unreasonable hysteria and the media just keeps on prodding it.

AT this point I could not care less about his taxes, I just want him to get this country back on its feet financially and try to bring us together. We have been quite intentionally divided along race and class lines until now we are at each others' throats and ripe for conquest.

You wrote a lot of common sense. I think this is bigger than a party that just lost an election. There were many people with great jobs in Washington who were convinced it would continue when Hillary won the White House. They now can't believe their play house is being cleaned out. I'm concerned that we will have anarchy in this country...we already see signs of it. May God have mercy on us all.

That scares me, too. Not for myself so much as my 3 year old granddaughter. My sons, my ex, myself have all made plans to "shelter in place" when the worst happens. We figure when the hot weather comes it will make things worse and we may have riots, etc. We have plenty of bottled water, food, TP and other supplies to last at least a few weeks.
It took 8 years but we're finally ready to literally tear each other apart over stupid things.

No President has ever been perfect and no President ever will be, not as long as we keep putting humans in office. However, I have a new found respect for all of our previous Presidents, including those for whom I didn't vote and those I didn't support or agree with because never did I doubt their loyalty tot he United States, never did I doubt they weren't basically decent human beings despite their faults which we all have and never did I fear they would be so out of control that they'd get us into a war, maybe a nuclear war, over something stupid and trivial.
Donald Trump has changed everything. I'm thankful the media is finally trying to hold him accountable but I sure wish they'd have started sooner. He's the one who is totally mad, not those who are rightfully opposing him.
The exchange the right loves to bring up between President Obama and the former Russian President in no way compares with what's going now with the new Administration. President Obama was already in office and was running for reelection, he was simply stating that after the campaign was over he'd have more of a chance to deal with them on missile defense. As it turns out Putin hated Obama and, as we all know now, wanted to get Donald in there so he could act as Putin's puppet. This is scary and dangerous and totally unprecedented. Between the Russians' tampering with our election and therefore undermining the people's confidence in our democracy and Donald's attacks on the media in the hopes of getting his supporters to believe only him and what he wants them to believe, our nation faces an existential danger.

This country has been so caught up in politics and so busy looking for things to be offended by for the past ten years that I don't think anyone is thinking straight! Anyone can come in right now and destroy us because we are so divided.
