I belong to the old city kashi, famous as Varanasi. In our city you will hear a sound every where its har har Mahadev. This is our way to say hello, good morning or good night, by etc. Have you ever visited the city?

Remembering the great God and to greet others this way is the best form of greetings I believe. Some of my neighbors great me in the morning by saying Ram Ram.

@Bodyandbrain (791) I have visited Varanasi years back when I was in school. It was for Varshik ceremony that we went there as family group of about 25 members. I still cherish a week's stay I had there. The food is amazing, the bath at ghat , the narrow lanes and the temples all give an amazing feel. I wish to visit there soon.

@syeow1 like there are many temples (few of them are very very old), Sarnath temple, where you can see a museum also and remains of ancient civilization, boudh stup.Varanasi is famous for its banarasi silk saries, Varuna river and it's ghats, where you can see Ganga Arati in the morning and evening. Most important Vishwanath temple.
