The Houston Texans are interested in signing Dallas Cowboys second string quarterback Tony Romo to lead their team in 2017. The Cowboys are expected to release Romo who suffered a back injury during the 2016 preseason and he lost his quarterback job to rookie Dak Prescott. Since Prescott is likely to be the starting quarterback of the Cowboys for the near future, Romo will likely finish his football career with a team that is in contention to make to the Super Bowl withing the next two to three football seasons that Romo has left in his tank. The dream that Texans fans are yearning for to have a veteran quarterback to lead their deep into the playoffs could come true if the Texans can reach an agreement with the Cowboys to have Romo join their football team in 2017.

I would think Romo would not settle for being a backup.

No way Tony Romo will work as a backup quarterback to Dak Prescott or anyone.
