Is the NBA becoming kinder and gentler with their sports rivalries?

I am starting to wonder if the water in Cleveland Ohio is safe to drink due to Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James denying there is any bad blood between himself and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. Both James and Curry are natives of Akron Ohio, despise President Donald Trump, and are the top basketball stars of the National Basketball Association (NBA) as well as ESPN darlings. James denies there is a rivalry between his Cavaliers and Curry's Warriors basketball teams. I guess these two players do not know the slogan "Never do business with friends and relatives." Okay so the Cavaliers and Warriors have met in the last two NBA Championships and James denies the two teams are rivals? I just wonder if the Cavaliers basketball players have been watching too many reruns of the shows "The Twilight Zone" or "The Outer Limits" on late night television.

Maybe it's another marketing plot because, either accept it or not, these two teams, Cavaliers and Golden State will once again face off th Finals of NBA. Gone are the days when NBA float the rivalry of their coaches... That was last year.

That is true since Curry and James are the top draws of the league today.

After two contested NBA finals, there has to be a rivalry and what's wrong with a heated rivalry? Makes it more interesting for fans.

That is my point. Since Curry and James seem to be bosom buddies, the heat between the Cavaliers and Warriors does not have any urgency to have the fan watch the games.
