Day 165 Proverbs 17:26 Proverbs 17:26 Also to punish the just is not good, nor to strike princes for equity. Have you ever felt you were unjustly punished for something you didn’t do? Jealousy is one of many reasons why false accusations will come against you. Some people have vindictive natures and want to see everyone punished. Especially when they are at fault. They will look for anyone else to take the fall for them. Solomon used wisdom to discern matters between people. One such situation concerned a baby. 1 Kings 3:16 Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him. 17 And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. 18 And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. 19 And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it. 20 And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. 21 And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear. 22 And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spoke before the king. 23 Then said the king, The one says, This is my son that lives, and thy son is the dead: and the other says, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living. 24 And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king. 25 And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other. 26 Then spoke the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it. 27 Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. The woman was willing to kill the child rather than see it given to its rightful mother. She had a vindictive nature. The mother of the child was compassionate and didn’t want to see any harm come to her child. She was the one unjustly accused. Peter told the saints that when they were unjustly accused, and did not rail against their accusers, but took it with patient endurance, God would show them favor, because it was with the same patience and endurance Jesus went to the cross, being unjustly accused. 1 Peter 2:18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judges righteously: 24 Who his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls. It is never good to be unjustly accused, but when you show the grace and mercy of Jesus towards those who make the accusations, God will show you favor. Jesus said those who endured persecution for the sake of the gospel would receive their reward. Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (KJV) Let’s pray: Father, help me stand for the gospel of your Son, Jesus, no matter what people say about me, or the accusations they bring against me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. It is really awful to be accused wrongfully. I wonder how those accusers can sleep comfortably at night.

They don't have a conscience. If they did, they wouldn't do such things.
