"kms" and how much I hate it

So, lately I have noticed this chat speak acronym and boy oh boy people know how much I hate chat speak, but this takes the cake of something that immediately irks me.
If you do not know, "kms" is chat speak for, "Kill myself"
Let that sink in.
Now it is a joke when people are like, "oh my god, I want to die" when they are embarrassed.
Some will mutter it when they are stressed out. But no one really means it.
So, how harmful could, "kms" really be?
Well. Let's think about it.
Suicide rates have gone up way farther than they ever have before and most of the time, the family knows that the person has a chance of being suicidal and no one does anything about it.
There are also cases where no one knows about the person being suicidal but they do show signs of it and again no one does anything about it.
Suicide, the act of taking your own life by your own hand. And people joke about this, not realizing how serious this problem is, they mutter out, "kms" on their posts, group chats, whatever.
They are romanticizing the idea of taking their own life, for a situation that is so meaningless like, wrecking their new pair of shoes, or spilling their coffee.
People are romanticizing the verbiage of killing themselves when they don't mean it.
You think that would be harmless...Right?
When we say, "I'm gonna kill you!" we don't really mean it.
When we say, "I want to die." We don't really mean it.
So why is this new lingo, bothering me so much?
Because there are so many cases where a person will say they want to die, they want to kill themselves, they do not want to live anymore, they actually commit suicide, and people are clueless as to why they did it even though they actually say it and/or show it. These souls are never heard because no one takes it seriously!
Romanticizing the idea of suicide, even when it is just a part of this chat lingo, is still down right barbaric.
So many people die because they are an unheard voice, no one listens to them, and saying, "kms" is just a boy who cried wolf situation. You keep saying it, and eventually, no one will believe anyone who actually shows they want to die.
Who knew I could find a chat speak acronym I could hate more than, "lol"

This is the first time I have ever heard of Kms. That is such a dumb thing to write. I do see how it can be really upsetting too. There is some YouTuber who says mockingly that he has crippling depression. My daughters best friend and cousin says it all the time. They think it is so funny and I told her to me it is sad because I truly do have crippling depression and that I take medication for it.
