Unintentional Word Play! (I need help!)

I normally wouldn't do this but it's driving me crazy! I am trying to search for something and there is a word on the tip of my tongue. I can't quite think of it but I am almost 99.9% certain that it starts with the letter N. It's definition is something between Nostalgic and Niche but it means "unique" and would be used to describe something in a broad sense. By broad, I mean it would cover a wide range of things. Sellers use this word a lot as it is a good keyword, grabs attention. I just can't think of what it is! What is it that I am looking for? Different types of string lights, I want something with shapes to it, not just plain. That word would really help, if only I could remember it!

Fairy lights? I'd just search for that, rather than novelty ... it should bring up oodles of different styles. Or, I suppose they may not be called fairy lights in the US. I have butterflies across my bedstead, pompoms across my bedroom window, plain ones in a glass vase in my living room, and little hearts in a glass jar, also in my living room. They sparkle and look pretty. :)

Fairy lights seem to bring up just little lights without any of the baubles like you've described.

I cheated and read the answer below since I was then curious what the word might be too!

It was driving me absolutely crazy! I am looking because I've sort of decided on a "plan" to make myself a "canopy" type area. I saw so many different ideas but I think I'm going with the simplest thing. Anyway, I wanted battery operated (or remote operated) novelty lights to string around the canopy.

@ScribbledAdNauseum have you decided what kind of novelty light you'll go with? Yes I am glad you found out the word or else I'd be sitting here thinking as well :)

@infatuatedbby Not yet. I might not go for anything cutesy at all. I want to use a Green covering though, so I thought maybe little shamrocks? I may just use what I already have, which is a string of christmas lights.

I pride myself in having an excellent vocabulary, but cannot think of any word that would encompass both of those words.

It popped into my head just a moment ago. I would take the discussion down but I figured it wouldn't hurt for others to make suggestions. Might help me on my search anyhow. Novelty was the word.
