So, I am looking at discussions, and very disappointed to see some people write 1-2 sentences and call that a discussion. I even saw one that basically said they had a weird life...that was it. No explanation. How are you supposed to reply to something like that? I feel like some people on here are just trying to make money quickly with clogging the discussion feed with short posts that don't really mean anything. I am looking to read, and have a discussion. I love the community here, and think the potential is incredible. There are so many people from all over the world here, with different perspectives. We could be learning so much about each other and figuring out solutions to real problems. Maybe I'm a little overzealous, but I think this is a really cool place, and I wish that the people that don't really want to participate and contribute to the community, not even bother. So what do you think? Is that too harsh or does it bother you too?

Yes this has always been a pet peeve of mine.. but then I am a little long-winded when I type sometimes.. I admit it.. I don't start a lot of discussions because frankly, I start typing and next thing you know - it's a book, and most people read the title and then don't even read the rest.. which Is why I like to make the title NOT quite what the Discussion actually was... to see who is paying attention.. I do not think you are being harsh at all!

I agree. Earlier there was some rules on words. I mean the discussion should have some minimum word limits. I think that rule is good for all so that no one will end a one discussion, which never make any good feedback to the site. I too have less interest to reply to those oneline topics. However, I have to admit that quality topics are rarely found these days.

That is sad. I have found some great posters on here though. I hope that activity here picks up and more people get interested in posting, as well as interacting, with the posts.

@JolietJake You are right, I remember the word limit on bubblews. But mylot has some rules on topics earlier (no birthday topic, no topic on earnings etc). But many seniors reminded again and again don't start a discussion with one line.

@JolietJake I don't remember it having one. I know that Bubblews did.

A discussion should at least be four sentences long.

Yes but some of them are getting paid.

I don't think they are making very much. You get paid for interactions here, not just posting.
