In our simple Filipino household, we like to combine Western breakfast with local flavors. This morning I made bacon and sunny side ups (primarily for the kids) and fried some salted dried fish (we call them "tuyo") and served them all with steamed rice.
Yup, rice! :o) We normally eat rice for breakfast, although some can satiate their morning appetite with just the usual pandesal (Filipino breakfast buns).
What's the usual breakfast in your household?

When our child was still going to school in her elementary days, I always prepare those meals. It has to be a hearty breakfast , so she will have the energy for school.
But now that it's just us, older people at home, it's just bread and those sandwich fillers, like egg , hotdogs and those sandwich spreads so as not to be late to work.

I will have to learn how to brew coffee at home someday. My husband loves a good brew. :o)
