Tuesday is a Good Day. When I leave work on a Tuesday I breathe a sigh of happiness, safe in the knowledge that I'm halfway through my working week. Technically, it's not the middle of my week; I get up, leave the house and arrive home on a Friday at the same time as I do Monday to Thursday, but my Friday shenanigans are for love, not money. Friday comes with the perks of lunch, cuddles, nursery rhymes and enough laughter to make me burst. The perks of my paid employment are far fewer. A local newspaper, gossiping with friends and the playful lobbing of scrunched up paper ... From a psychological perspective it is fabulously fandangly. Lunchtime on Tuesday always brings the thought, Three more hours! Then I only have two more days left. Huzzah, I'm halfway through my working week! It's a thought which relaxes me and eases tension. If I can make it to the end of Tuesday with little or no drama, I know the rest of the week will be as easy as pie. I fear that I may have just tempted Fate. Oops.
