If You Could Live Forever, Would You Choose To Do It?

That is a really good question. Would YOU choose to live forever and WHY? Think of all the things a person might be able to accomplish if we didn’t grow old and die. How often have you thought about things that you would like to do if you had more time? Most of us, after childhood, start working at a job, just to make a living and keep food on the table. What if we had time to pursue other interests? We might want to learn to play a musical instrument. Or we might want to take time to learn a trade, or start a business, or travel around the world, or any number of other things. What would you do, if you had more time?
To question the meaning of life, some also ask: Why are we here? Does my life have a purpose? You can consider fundamental truths that the Bible reveals.

Yes! To be able to read all the books in the world and see all the movies and travel everywhere. Let's not quibble about the financial issues.

I expect that virtually everyone would want to live forever. Personally I would probably consider doing almost everything eventually.

Living forever is programmed into our heart so that we WANT to live forever. And God has promised that we can have everlasting life. Did you follow the link I gave? If you read that, you can learn what God has promised. READ John 17:3 in your Bible.

@IreneVincent Due to our instinct for self survival, eternal life has been a central part of every religion since man began.

I would change the way I do things. I would think of a long term game plan. I would love to live forever.

Yes and no. I would prefer to be able to turn back the clock and make better choices that would have allowed me to do the things I would like to do. Why didn't I even think to travel when I was young and single and still living at home? That was the time to do it and it just never occurred to me. Some of the choices I made resulted in me developing fibromyalgia, this has decreased my quality of life and as I get older I sure as heck won't be wishing to live forever unless I made a miraculous recovery. I also don't want to bury my kids. I wish I had more time, wish I hadn't wasted the time that has already gone by, but seeing the way my mother is living at 92 with dementia and missing my father so badly after 11 years, I don't want to live like that.

If I could live forever it would only be enjoyable if I was in good shape and could be active still.

Yes, we would want good health and vitality. That's what God has promised. Did you read the link I gave? It will explain what God has in store for all mankind. Read Revelation 21: 3, 4 in your Bible.

I think that everyone would be more relaxed if they knew that they had all the time in the world. However if I have financial problems now and difficulty making ends meet what will change as time goes on? Thing might get even worse in the world or things can get even more expensive and to struggle year after year after century already thinking about it makes me so tired. I think just accepting life as is is the best we can do and life life as well as we can , get our enjoyment and keep to our faith.

I can understand that completely, but that is NOT what God has promised. If you follow the link I gave, you will learn what the Bible says about the future of mankind and what God has promised for those who love and serve him.
