Current Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, 33, who has played 11 seasons in the National Football League is thinking about retirement from playing football if there is no team in the league that needs his services in 2017. Cutler has fully recovered from his labrum surgery. The Bears have no intention of keeping him on the roster in 2017. The Bears want to trade Cutler to another football team before the start of free agency which begins on March 9, 2017. Cutler like many older quarterbacks in the National Football League may decide that getting beat up on Sundays while having enough money to burn for the rest of their lives is not worth risking a serious injury that forces them to retire prematurely from the game.

You would think he could get a quick million as a back up and sit most of the time.

That is true. Being a backup quarterback would be good for Jay.
