The New York Jets on Friday have released their place kicker Nick Folk, 32, after he played seven seasons with the team. Folk was in the final year of his current contract that would have paid him $3 million dollars in the 2017 football season. Folk was the place kicker for the Dallas Cowboys from 2007-2009 before he joined the New York Jets before the start of the 2010 football season. Folk will likely be invited to try out to make another team in the National Football League before the start of the next football season since he still has some gas left in his tank.

Imagine being paid millions and your primary function is just kicking the ball and not even for field goals.

Back in the early 1990's, the Denver Broncos had a guy that only kicked off. Very strong leg, and could put it through the uprights on the kickoff, but they never let him kick field goals unless David Treadwell was hurt. Nice job if you can get it.
