Is it normal to hurt after a dental cleaning?

Regarding the problem you faced at the hands of the dentist I am sorry for you. But would like to share a experience which one of my relative had with a dentist. As with you she too had severe pain after the cleaning up they did. She had pain for almost a week. I saw her literally suffer and felt bad. I told her not to go to any dentist for cleaning as using a ayurvedic toothpaste gives great results too. As we age the tooth also become weak and the outer part slowly chips and becomes thin. Hence one has to be careful. I went to a dentist in my childhood as I had decayed teeth as I unknowingly ate too many chocolates and lost my teeth but luckily a new set came and since I was careful and have never been to a doctor. If one takes medicines too even then gums get swollen. It is good to give gums a thumb massage daily after brushing. Hope this information is useful.

Whenever I have my teeth cleaned at the dentist I have to have anesthetic as the gums are receded and the nerves exposed and it was too painful otherwise.

Gums can be sensitive especially if you have gum disease of some sort and they are poking and prodding in there.

Not for me.

I fear going to dentist as its too painful ,earlier when I was treated I had a very bad pain .
