Orphan

Orphan We people live in a society where on one side kids are considered to be the future of the nation and on other dark side kids live life like slaves. We may show our sympathy to them but think once do sympathy really works? There are about 20 million orphans in this world, 4% of there is alone in India which is larger than the population of the Delhi. But the fact that kills me is that only 0.4% of these kids have lost their parents (died) rest of them are ABANDONED. Poverty, Social unrest and terror --- militancy and naxalism, gender are the major factors for the orphans in India. These kids suffer for their whole life. Even surviving is harder for them. They struggle for the survival, have no access to education and their rights. And at last they are trafficked or thrown into illegal works. This is an ugly truth of the society that the kids who should be in the schools are on the roads asking for food and money, the kids who should be playing in the parks are working to survive. It’s easy to ask a kid that why he does not go to school? And give them money and say go to school, don’t beg. But have you ever thought if that kid will stop begging or working how will he survive? Stop asking! Stop saying! Start helping…. Whenever you see a kid like them HELP! many NGO’s works for them. • Here is a concept that is mine may be you like it or not but all the couples who are planning to have kids should think about it, when you have your first kid and you are planning for the second one why don’t you adopt a kid, an orphan. Many parents want a boy, so trying of your own may not give you a boy, why don’t you adopt a boy.

My biggest anger issue with this @screwedSkull is that maybe 'those parents' should have thought about the future and if it was wise to have several children. If you can't feed, clothe and educate one, don't have any more. Having 7 or 8 kids and none of them live past the age of 5 is ridiculous. I do however like your idea.

Your final suggestion is noble but will not workout in many cases as adoption laws are very difficult. But one thing can be done and should be done by the government of India as it levies cesses on child education and welfare. They have to take all these children who are a large human resource. Provide free and compulsory education to them till they are employed after higher studies. Maybe children who become well off from this lot, society and government all should be taking 100 percent care and the the courts should be guardians as they are children of India and represent India. Please send this same letter through your facebook to PMO India. I send them such issues to them through messages. Which are acknowledged. One more thing I want to share is if a child is lost and has a aadhar card the government agencies can track the parents as they have the biometrics information of the child who is lost. Appreciate you raising this issue.

Finding a boy for adoption is difficult too.
