Do you drink water on a fast?

I have read some articles attributing benefits to the habit of drinking fasting water.
Particularly, I really don't believe that much, because every time I drank fasting water, the feeling was not good at all. However, it can be a habit that does not suit everyone... Is it for you?

I only drink on a fast day if I am sick and have to drink but do not eat. On fast days I do not drink or eat.

When you fast the body would get rid of waste and toxin quickly than it would normally do so water is essential in dilluting and facilitating the process

I have never heard of the water fasting before so I just found out that some people do a water diet or whatever it is called, in which only water is allowed and no food.
I would faint on the first day since I have a very demanding schedule every day.
But I do drink a lot of water daily and I fast two times per year.
No meat, no diaries and no oil is allowed while fasting.
