There is a preference for food when it comes to keeping your weight in check. Oats has been universally accepted as the first thing to start your day when ur on a weight loss spree but with the reviews from consumers about the results being mixed makes one think that does it really help to lose weight of had for breakfast ?

Oats especially not the instant oats are a great source of fiber to cleanse your insides as a result it can help decrease weight. But I think eating oats only without exercise or proper diet in general will not solve the problem of obesity. In general, when a healthy product is taken out of context it usually is seen as not effective but then again if you look closely enough, you'll realize that it's not the products that's not working its the consumer. My thought on this is, oats are really great in reducing cholesterol and fats from the body but as a consumer, you also have to work out, reduce fats from yoir diet, drink lots of water.. etc. Then you'll see the results. And it's not just for oats but for all other types of food.

i agree. i think the unflavored rolled oats are healthier and more effective, but you have to cook it and it takes time.

@hereandthere that's right. It contains more fiber than the instant ones.

@slayer08 i remember buying a sachet of instant oatmeal years ago that's supposed to be banana flavored and was shocked at how sweet it was and how strong the scent was.

Recently I readed somewhere oats is not good to start the day, which never helps to keep the health good. I don't have much knowledge and I don't have the habit of having oats either.

It does but I don't like it. So I am trying calorie diet now. You need to eat within your daily calorie intake. It works but I still need to maintain it, which is one of the hardest part. It's not as fast as some would hope but I'm glad my weight going down steadily.
