Another text message that leaves me disgruntled again.

My Nokia phone has no load; therefore, it is just here lying on the table. It has my Globe number.
Then last February 25, I received a text message from our clinical coordinator informing me that there will be no duty again this Thursday and Friday, March 2 and 3, because the students will have their recollection/retreat and the event is called “camp of colors’.
I texted a fellow colleague who follows level 4 students if they are having their duty yesterday and today, and next Monday and Tuesday, she replied ‘yes’. She also said the level 4 students are exempted from attending the COC because they had that when they were third year level.
I was disgusted. It means the 3 of us part-time CI’s who teach level 3 students, will have 2 days work only (March 9 and 10); ergo, 2 days salary for the first half of the month.
I opened up this concern to our dean, and he said he will look into the RLE of the students as make-up duties and we will still be their CI.
The sudden change of schedule is not good especially if we expect to have finances for our needs.

THey themselves will have your experience when they got older as well. If they're young then let them experience this camp thing. Sad for you guys over there.

the camp thingy is the retreat or recollection, but i think the students take this as a vacation from school. they really miss the opportunity to have an examination of conscience and change in life.

What a let down for you.
Very frustrating to think that you are going to work so many days or hours and then you find that you can only work what they want.

@lovinangelsinstead21 yes and it is really irritating to know about that. last night at around 9PM, 2 of my level 3 students gave me a copy of the manuscript for their case colloquium this Friday.so, we have work this Thursday and Friday again.

our job descriptions clearly points out that we have to supervise our learners in our own respective areas in the hospital.
no, we are not going to attend the COC, but our duty days are cut off- a make-up duty however is scheduled on the 23rd and 24th of this month.

@ridingbet That's good then that you know what is best for you. Take it easy when working, don't tire yourself much . That's good that you are in that salary mode too. 
By the way, zegway muna - it is so touching that Amanda finally gave her yes to the upcoming marriage of Peter and Gloria. I can't help shedding some tears when Amanda hugged her and Paeng because of that.

no, my lady. with the heart ailment i have now, i believe being a part-time CI is better for me because it does not tire my heart easily. besides, i believe it is my calling to teach, after leaving the clinical area.
by the way, i get my salary on bi-monthly schedule- 1st and 16th day of the month

Is it not they should complete a certain number of duty days per semester? Is that really okay for them not to have their duties because of other activities?
COC... I thought, Clash of Clans. Hmmmm I wonder why it's called "Camp of Colors".

yes, it is a scjhool requirement that they should complete a certain number of duty hours, that is why we will be having an extension of duty from the previous schedule. RLE should end on the third week of March, but it is extended up to the 4th week.
COC, yes, i thought it was clash of clans.

@jaboUK i believe so too. now, i am very vocal in stating my concerns to our dean. that although we are JUST part-time clinical instructors, we should have that privilege and right to be paid fairly with our jobs.
recently, the college of nursing announced a tuition hike, but our salaries remain at the same rate, and i think there is injustice.

yes my friend. the school calendar is prepared before the semester, but there are abrupt changes that is why we are kept surprised if we expect duty and then receiving this text message.
the schedule was: no duty from Feb 16 to 28. this March 2 and 3 are unscheduled activities not in the calendar
