Arizona Diamondback rookie manager Torey Louvullo made the announcement to start his best starting pitcher on his starting pitching staff which is Zack Grienke. The Diamondbacks will be hosting the San Francisco Giants at their home stadium Chase Field on April 2, 2017. The decision to select Grienke to be the Opening Day starting pitcher for the Diamondbacks was an easy decision for Louvullo. If Grienke can pitch effectively for the Diamondbacks during the first half of the 2017 baseball season, he could be on the trading block for a team that is contention to make the playoffs by the time the trade deadline comes on July 31, 2017.

Not a surprise as Grienke is the AZ ace.
