Have you seen the spoon?

It's March 2nd (Actually it's March 1st) but yesterday was March 1st (still is) and St. David's Day in Wales. St. David was the Patron Saint of Wales and apparently of doves as well. March 1st is a Holiday in Wales, though not Nationally recognized. What does this have to do with a spoon you might say? Well I mean, it really doesn't have a lot to do with a spoon. St David lived around 500 AD. He would go on pilgrimages around the United Kingdom and would found several monasteries. He would be known for several Miracles, one of which was the raising of a hill so that he could be heard. At any rate, Google saw fit to use a Welsh Spoon as it's logo for today. While I don't see the connection between St. David and the Welsh spoon, other than Wales that is, I suppose it does no harm. A Welsh Spoon was most commonly given as a means for a man to show his affection towards a woman. It's more or less a symbol used to show all family members love now though. As for the google logo, it's back to it's standard logo. It's after midnight in the UK (which explains my confusing opening sentence) and so the logo has changed. (In reference to google.co.uk)

"Wales Online" is one of the news sources I have liked on facebook and so that is where I first found out about it. I was privy to it last year but didn't post anything about it then. Atleast, not that I can recall. isn't the Welsh Spoon a sweet gesture?
