A book a recently enjoyed was Rutger Hauer's autobiography "All Those Moments: Stories of Heroes, Villains, Replicants, and Blade Runners".  Rutger Hauer is a Dutch actor who is, perhaps, most famous for being in one of my favorite movies.  "Blade Runner".  In addition to "Blade Runner:, Hauer has also been in films I enjoy such as "Lying in Wait", "Omega Doom", "Blind Fury", and "The Poseidon Adventure"(2005 version),  Hauer's book is an interesting telling of his film career and related adventures and mishaps but also an interesting look at life in Holland.  Worth a read esp. if you enjoy the man's film works. Hauer's official site :
The Rutger Hauer Official Web Site with his filmography, biography, picture galleries, works, newsletters, videos, audios and more.

@fayehazel ~I like Rutger Hauer. I'll have to check out his book. I liked him in the movie where he was cursed so that he could never see the women that he loved again. I forget the name and am too lazy to look at the moment. The movie also had Matthew Broderick in it.

Don't forget The Hitcher! Did you know that Anne Rice patterned parts of Lestat after him?

Oh shoot, that's a good one too. Scary as all get out. I have always liked how he can play the villain or the hero ... hero priest no less in "Posideon" ... didn't know that about Lestat, another great movie right there

@FayeHazel Soldier of Orange was a Dutch film directed by Paul Verhoeven who came to Hollywood and did Basic Instinct and Robocop. I have seen the Dutch films Soldier of Orange, Spetters, Turkish Delight and Kettje Tipple all directed by Verhoeven and starring Hauer. Verhoeven also directed Hauer in the English language Flesh+Blood.

Was that a Dutch production? I would love to see some of his early works - however - some of them are pretty hard to track down

@JohnRoberts Oh wow - where were you able to track the movies down? It's interesting that Verhoeven was able to make it big in the US. too. Haven't seen "Basic Instinct" or "Robocop" in a long time...

I do like Rutger, he has turned up in some very strange films. Still, Blade Runner is his best and he has some great lines.

"Blade Runner" was his favorite, too - he says in the book. Oh that ending in the rain from "Blade Runner" is nothing short of brilliant
