I have a confusion between patriotism and nationalism. Loving one's own country is always good.
However, when I criticize on any bad policy taken by our administration, friends or readers tag me as anti-national. In India, now-a-days national vs anti-national debate is hot cake. It happened after a nationalist party came into power.
I searched in google and maximum of the search results said patriotism is better than nationalism. If patriotism is better, then why and how nationalist parties gets into power? Is there any way to draw the line to differentiate a man is patriotic and not nationalists?
I am a proud Indian, but at the same time I feel we have lot of internal problems which need to be rectified. If I pen against them, am I anti-national?

That is what I wanted to know you said you are both... but how would you define that and where is the difference?

I was reading farther. There is slight difference. When you support your country what it does you are patriot. When you support your country no matter what it does you are nationalist. This no matter part is important.
