According to the extended story, they had many more children and they produced a lot of children in turn. In the offhand account, there were other people already in the world and they weren't the first, but the first of their kind.
There's another twist in the story that says that Eve was the second woman created, and the first was Lilith (if I recall correctly) and her children turned out to be inhuman.
In the end one story really survived, but how many stories were there, and how many truths among those?

Is there a source where we can read about this?

@allknowing For the extended, in the old testament I think. For the offhand, there is no source other than knowledge of the time line. And for the twist, that requires a little digging. Lilith isn't mentioned all that much, but supposedly she was created from the same dust that Adam was, which was why she was incredibly strong willed.

I will go with the theory of evolution. That's the only logical one that makes sense to me. I am not really sold on the idea of humans popping out of dust.
