My phone was not being charged properly

Lately I started having some trouble with my iphone when trying to charge it. I thought that my cables were at fault for that but I realized that that was not the case when I went with my phone to a service.
I explained the problem to the service man and in about 5 minutes he solved it and now all my three cables are working properly when trying to charge my phone. In other words it was the phone's fault not the cable's fault for that.
Did you eve experience such a problem with your phones?

Iphones are indeed more expensive overall.
