Day 178
Proverbs 18:17
Proverbs 18:17 He that is first in his own cause seems just; but his neighbor comes and searches him.
When you were small, you had an idea what you wanted to do with your life. In school, you developed more ideas that lead to how you would achieve your goals. In your adult life, you put those ideas into practice. As you grew and learned, you gained friends who would either agree with you or oppose your ideas of how you would proceed with your plans.
As king, Solomon heard a lot of ideas of how things should be done. He had counselors to help him with the affairs of the kingdom and overseers to help with his various enterprises.
Every corporation has a board of directors. Every country has a body of representatives to guide the affairs of the country and every leader has a cabinet. Nobody runs anything alone. Even in marriage you have a partner to help with the decisions of the household.
As Christians, you aren’t alone either. From the moment, you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit guides and teaches you. You are never alone as you walk through life.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but ye know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (KJV)
Life is a lot easier when you have someone to help you stay on the right path.
Let’s pray: Father, help me listen to you as you guide me through this life. Let your Holy Spirit teach me what I need to know so I will not stray from the path you have for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
